But the interaction with other musicians is still missing ... I think that's the point ...

oh man I miss the interaction !

Me tooooo, me tooo, I loved the organ concerts. Do you remember Cooper and Rick Iannonie (spelling) playing big band duos
demoing for Wersi. Rick was all heart and taste, Cooper played so fast you could not follow him.

Tony,
There is a bit of magic/excitement that does not happen often between musicians– it’s a high that brings excitement. There was interplay between musicians, feelings thrown in all directions.
You not only played off your own feelings but off the other musician’s feelings multiplying the excitement.

When I played for singer (guitar) I was part of what they were doing. I felt what they were doing, I felt their feelings and added mine.

Recently I played guitar with the sax player/singer I used in my band for many years, he now plays a single with recorded backgrounds. After a half-hour of singing and playing together he said, “How come I can sing better with you backing me on your guitar”?

OK, off my sop-box, just beautiful memories, the wheel must turn.

John ... some of my best gigs were playing behind a good vocalist ...

... and that's a great complement from your friend ...
